Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By using Goatie, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

Age requirement. You must be at least 13 years old to use Goatie or to be named as a user of an account. Accounts are held by an adult (18 or older) or by a chapter, club, or school. Students aged 13 to 17 use Goatie as authorized users of that adult’s or organization’s account, and the account holder is responsible for their use (see sections 10 to 12). A parent or guardian can review or request deletion of a minor’s data at any time through our contact page.

2. Records Are User-Entered

Records in Goatie are user-entered unless explicitly marked as verified by a connected veterinarian, auction, or breed registry. Verification badges indicate third-party confirmation, not a guarantee of accuracy. Goatie does not independently verify user-entered records.

3. No Guarantees

Goatie does not guarantee:

• Animal health, fertility, or productivity
• Sale legality or ownership validity
• Market value or price
• Breeding success or offspring quality
• Accuracy of user-entered data

4. Automated Analysis

Automated analytics are decision support tools only. Their outputs do not constitute veterinary advice, legal advice, or financial advice. Consult qualified professionals before making decisions about animal health, purchases, or sales.

This applies to Show Coach, video and photo detection, weight and health estimates, dictation, receipt and label reading, and every other automated analysis in Goatie. These features are AI-assisted and can be wrong. They do not diagnose, treat, or certify anything, they do not replace a veterinarian, a judge, an advisor, or a financial professional, and you are responsible for checking their output before you rely on it. Goatie does not currently use your data, photos, or videos to train automated models; our Privacy Policy describes what is stored and what would change if that were ever introduced.

5. Ownership Transfers

Goatie facilitates digital record-keeping for ownership transfers. These records do not constitute legal proof of ownership and do not replace proper legal documentation. Regulatory requirements for livestock ownership vary by jurisdiction.

6. Prohibited Uses

You may not use Goatie to enter fraudulent records, impersonate other users or organizations, circumvent visibility or access controls, or violate applicable laws.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Ownership history and audit logs are retained even after account closure to preserve record integrity.

8. Payments and Billing

Subscriptions and report purchases are billed through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges. You may cancel at any time. Only the account holder (an adult, or an authorized officer of a chapter, club, or school) may subscribe or make purchases; authorized users who are minors may not be billed.

Mobile app and App Store notice: Goatie is a web application. All purchases and subscriptions are processed through our website via Stripe. When using Goatie through a mobile browser or as an installed progressive web app, billing is web-based and not handled through Apple App Store or Google Play in-app purchase systems. This platform does not offer in-app purchases through Apple or Google billing systems.

9. Data Export and Deletion

You may export your data at any time from Settings. You may request account deletion per our Account Deletion Policy. Immutable ownership transfer records and audit logs are retained after deletion as required for system integrity and compliance.

Your herd data is yours. We never sell your data or share it for advertising, and we only use trusted service providers to operate Goatie.

10. Eligibility and Authority

When you create an account, you represent that you are at least 18 years old, or that you are an authorized officer, advisor, or leader of the chapter, club, or school on whose behalf you are creating the account and that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms. You further represent that any minor you add to the account as an authorized user is a person for whom you are legally responsible, or (for an organization account) a member of that organization whose participation you are authorized to manage.

11. Authorized Users and Responsibility

An authorized user is a person aged 13 to 17 whom the account holder adds to, or allows to use, the account. Authorized users may not hold an account of their own, subscribe, or make purchases. The account holder is responsible for each authorized user’s access to the service, for their use of it, for their conduct, and for every record, photo, video, document, and other content they enter, as if the account holder had done so personally. The account holder must keep the account’s credentials away from anyone under 13 and must not allow a child under 13 to use the service. If an authorized user turns 18, they may create their own account and the account holder may transfer records to it.

12. Parental Consent

For each minor you add to the account or allow to use it, you represent that you are that minor’s parent or legal guardian, or that you have obtained the consent of the minor’s parent or legal guardian to the minor’s use of Goatie under these Terms and our Privacy Policy, and that you will withdraw the minor’s access if that consent is withdrawn.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Goatie and its owners, officers, contractors, and service providers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of animals, income, profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to the service or these Terms, however caused and under any theory of liability, even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the service or these Terms is limited to the total fees you paid to Goatie in the twelve months before the claim arose, or, if you have paid no fees, to one hundred US dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these limitations, so some of them may not apply to you.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Goatie and its owners, officers, contractors, and service providers from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to your use of the service, the use of the service by any authorized user on your account, any content you or your authorized users enter, or your breach of these Terms or of applicable law.

15. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in the State of Ohio, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. Regulatory requirements for livestock ownership, health records, and traceability vary by jurisdiction. It is your responsibility to comply with local requirements.
